Preparing for Your Special Day

Our talented and caring Cantor Danielle Bensimhon works very closely with our children to prepare them for their Bar or Bat Mitzvah.  In addition, the children work with our very dedicated Bar and Bat Mitzvah tutor, Janet Jeddah.  Although the kids work with the tutor and cantor for a total of six months prior to the big day, the truth of the matter is that much preparation takes place in the classroom throughout their Religious School experience.  Midway is very proud of its students who are so capable and comfortable leading portions of the service.  And students are also welcome to recite Haftarah, though our focus is truly the service, the prayers that they will, God willing, hear in the synagogue for years and years to come.

Because we are committed to giving each child his or her own special time on the bimah, we permit Shabbat Minhah ceremonies and Sunday morning Rosh Hodesh ceremonies, though in the case of Sunday morning affairs, those opportunitites are understandably limited.
