Midway's parking lot was transformed into the State of Israel for the Independence Day / Mitzvah Day celebration.  Our Religious School students got to "visit" various areas of Israel and learn amazing facts while at the same time raising Mitzvah Day money.  Michael Salzman got the celebration started with a rousing shofar blast from the top of of the roof, and the teaching staff passed along fascinating information about Israel.  Cantor Bensimhon and band performed an exciting concert of Israeli music and the day was capped off with hot dogs and falafel.  Each student received a backpack, t-shirt and water bottle to commemorate this exciting and eventful day !!
