Due to the absence of a full-time cantor this year, Rabbi Rank’s role has been modified to make sure that the training process unfolds smoothly and seamlessly. Rabbi Rank thus listens to all the children six weeks prior to the Bar/t Mitzvah . This is to make sure that the learning process is proceeding in a timely manner, and to possibly make changes in that learning process if necessary. A second meeting may be scheduled if Rabbi Rank feels it is warranted. The family also meets with Rabbi Rank a couple of weeks prior to the simhah to review choreography on the bimah and to listen to the child’s speech.
