DROP-OFF AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES AT

MIDWAY JEWISH CENTER RELIGIOUS SCHOOL

The Ten Commandments of the Parking Lot

1.  NEVER  PARK ALONG THE SIDEWALK FROM THE ENTRANCE TO THE SYNAGOGUE

      UP TO THE SCHOOL STEPS.

2.  EARLY SUNDAY MORNING CLASSES WILL BE DISMISSED AT 10:50 A.M.

     LATE SESSION BEGINS AT 11:10 A.M. (Parents who drop off for the late session are asked to

     arrive at 11:00 A.M. ,not earlier, to allow the early session cars to clear the parking lot.

3.  PICK-UP: Parents picking up any day must be parked in the parking lot or lined up in 2 rows in the           

     Rear of the parking lot along the fence. (The rows are separated by orange cones.)

     Children being picked up at 10:50 A.M. will exit the building through the main school doors as well as

     the back door.

4.  DROP-OFF: Parents dropping off children on any given day must drive up to the rear door and exit  immediately, (children should not be dropped off at the main school doors.) To expedite the drop off, it is safer to drop off along the school building where cones have been placed. Drop off should be on the right hand side of the vehicle.  Children can then walk on the sidewalk to the ramp. In consideration of other parents waiting their turn, please leave as soon as possible.

5.  Students who attend classes in the nursery school building – parents must park their car in the parking lot and bring the child to the nursery school gate. Do not block traffic in front of the gate of the nursery school at any time. When picking up from the nursery school building, park your car in the parking lot, and meet your child at the nursery school gate. Children who have siblings in the main synagogue building will be brought over by a teacher to the main school doors.

6.  Cars that arrive late for dismissal must park on South Oyster Bay Road.

7.  DURING DISMISSAL, MID-WEEK AND ON SUNDAYS, CARS CANNOT MOVE UNTIL A SIGNAL    

     TO EXIT HAS BEEN GIVEN BY THE PRINCIPAL. A chain will block the nursery school exit and

     cones will block some of the exits. The chain and cones will be removed when all children are

     safe in their cars.

8.  In the parking lot, all cars must park in a parking spot (See map on reverse side.) When no spots are   

     left please create a horseshoe.

9.  At no time should anyone back out of a parking spot or begin driving until you have been instructed

     to move.

10. Cars will exit beginning with those parked along the fence. Every time the light changes we will

      stagger traffic from both areas of the parking lot, one area at a time.

     WE ASK THAT YOU OBEY AND RESPECT THE PRINCIPAL AND TEACHERS

     RESPONSIBLE FOR DIRECTING TRAFFIC IN THE PARKING LOT.

     PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD(REN) IS OUR

     MAIN CONCERN.
