In this recession many of us find ourselves in need of support, even those of us who have never had the need to access assistance.  The Jewish community is here for you.  UJA-Federation of New York and the Mid-Island Y JCC are responding to a community-wide crisis by providing you and your family with the help you may need. If you or someone you know may need assistance in the following areas, the Connect to Care team of social workers at the Mid-Island Y JCC can help.

The following are free and confidential services that a social worker can provide or link you to within the community:

Ø      Employment and career transition services, including job networking opportunities and career seminars

Ø      Financial consultation, debt counseling, and budget assistance

Ø      Legal services

Ø      Supportive counseling and Jewish spiritual care

Many unique workshops on a variety of related topics will be provided during the fall at the Mid-Island Y JCC, Sid Jacobson JCC, Friedberg JCC, the JCC of the Greater Five Towns, and the Suffolk Y JCC. Please watch for more information.

If you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment with one of our social workers please call, 516-822-3535 and ask for Christina Barlowe at ext. 328 or Audrey Dinstell ext. 383 or you may leave a confidential message on ext. 339.  More information is also available at www.sjjcc.org/connect-to-care and through the Linked-In group: Nassau County UJA-Federation’s Connect to Care.
