You're going to love our neighborhood.  The school system is outstanding, the shopping is superb, the tree-lined streets are quiet and inviting, and there are plenty of parks to play in or just relax.  For commuters, the Long Island Railroad has a major transportation hub in Hicksville and a station in Syosset. New York City is a 45 minute train ride.  Whether you travel the Northern State or the Long Island Expressway, they are literally three blocks from each other in Syosset.

The Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, located on the Campus of C. W. Post, is 20 minutes away.  Jones Beach presents a host of singing artists and bands each summer for your entertainment.  For history buffs, you won't want to miss Sagamore Hill, the home of our 26th president, Teddy Roosevelt, for close to 35 years.

Syosset and Plainview host some of the most outstanding public schools in New York and the nation. They are clearly a big draw for families who care deeply about their children's academic, athletic and social development. Our Plainview schools and Syosset schools are tops. In addition, the Schechter School of Long Island, K-12, is located 15 minutes away in Williston Park. Schechter families will find a congenial atmosphere at Midway as we applaud our day school students.

The Mid-Island Y Jewish Community Center sports a fabulous pool and exercise room. There are kosher meat markets in Plainview and Hicksville.  Ben's Kosher Deli, a Long Island institution, is in Woodbury and Bagel Boss, for fabulous bagels and schmears, is in Hicksville.  There is a mikveh in Plainview open to the community for membership.   The synagogue is included in an eruv.  The Long Island sound is 20 minutes north of us and the ocean is 20 minutes south.
