On Yom HaAtzma'ut, Israel's Independence Day, Cantor Frei will sing songs in honor of Israel. Some will be from the traditional liturgy of Hallel, recited on Yom HaAtzma'ut in gratitude for the miracle that Israel is, and some of a more contemporary nature.

The Daf Shevu’i class has been meeting for a few years and is wide-open to new members. We do one page of Talmud a week. Sound slow? Only to those who may have never opened a page of Talmud. The page or daf is pretty dense. We are studying Avodah Zarah, meaning idolatry, and deals with the issues that keep the Jewish people from falling into the trap of false values, goals and aspirations. Kabbalat Shabbat

We recite the last service of Shabbat (Minhah), the first service of the first day of the week (Ma'ariv), and bid Shabbat farewell with wishes that the learning and energy we gained through Shabbat make the upcoming week productive, creative and fulfilling.
